TURTLES AND TORTOISES

The turtles are aquatic or semi-aquatic  often featuring streamlined bodies and webbed feet or flipper that aid in swimming. The tortoises are terrestial having their domed shells and sturdy, column-like legs that support their weight on land. Both possess a protective shell which acts as a shield aginst predators and basking in the sun.
